Trying to remember people's names here who I knew at different times is not easy. I can recall many more faces and events than names and I'm adding names as I remember them. Please email me if your name is not here.

"I'm the one that's got to die when it's time for me to die/so let me live my life the way I want to."   If 6 was 9 - jimi hendrix

personal notes:

I loved reading the Somerset Maugham and Herman Hesse stories. Thomas Mann and Schopenhauer were early influences on my world view, introduced to me by Ronnie Knox and others.

In 1969 while staying with B.K. at his home on Sunset Beach (HI) , I read Kenneth Walker's "Venture with Ideas" that introduced me to the Fourth Way, based on the ideas and works of Armenian/Greek G.I. Gurdjieff.

During the next few years I found and read few Fourth Way books along with other influences like Meher Baba, Ramana Maharshi, and Trungpa. In 1972 while living in New Jersey I discovered a "group" in New York City connected to a living teacher/master of the Fourth Way. This was a group called Arica and was founded by Chilean Oscar Ichazo.

I attended meetings and trainings for a while but left once I discovered another group in NYC run by Ed and Betty Ann Schneider and was based on the work of Fourth Way teacher and artist E.J. Gold.

I attended the meetings in New York for a while but when I heard there was a training happening in Los Angeles with Mr. Gold I made plans to attend it (1974). I attended that training and decided to stay in Los Angeles where I could continue to work with the group and Mr. Gold.
